Youth Event for Pre-Hunt Age Level

 

MILFORD – Area youth between the ages of 7 and 12 are eligible to participate in the July 7 introductory format educational sportsmanship program sponsored by the NEPA Branch of Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA). Youth will learn about the three most common hunting methods: archery, shotgun and rifle. Certified instructors will be present at all three stations. Safety gear will be provided. There will also be informative presentations on a range of hunting and outdoor topics.

The deadline to register for this third annual youth event is Friday, June 29, and the program is limited to the first 25 boys and girls that sign up. A rain date has been set for the following day.

Participants in the one-day program from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to be held on private land in Pike County must be accompanied by a parent or guardian age 18 or older. The fee for participants is $10 per youth and $5 per youth for subsequent children in the same family. The accompanying adult attends free. Participants must bring their own lunch, but beverages will be provided.
