Deer Aerial Surveys To Be Reviewed

MILFORD - Learn about the latest deer census in Pike County on Oct. 28 at the PPL Environmental Learning Center on Route 6 in Hawley. The Pike County Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) will give presentations beginning at 7 p.m.

Results of recent Forward Looking InfraRed aerial surveys conducted by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) will be compared to 2003 results.

Deer herd reproduction, population, and impact on the habitat in Pike County will be reviewed along with how habitat condition and hunting control herd numbers.

The future of deer herd management, their size and health will also be discussed.

Speakers during the evening are Pike County QDMA Directors Peter Pinchot, president, and Robin Wildermuth, vice president, along with Tim Carr, DCNR management forester.

The public is welcome to attend and will have opportunity to question the speakers.
